Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” Done Torch Song Style with Hannah Gill and Casey Abrams

Sure, classic torch songs of the ‘50s and ‘60s usually find the singer pining for a lost love – but why not bring that same cinematic smolder to the heartbreak of a lost mind? Rising star singer Hannah Gill and Casey Abrams (Watch for Casey’s new solo album, coming early next year) will both have you questioning their sanity in our version of the Gnarls Barkley favorite.

Setting an ominous tone with the tolling of Jesse Elder’s Rhodes, Scott – never afraid to live life out on a limb – jettisons the looney-tunes glee of the original for a decidedly darker tone.

Whether it’s the uncanny way they stand and stare just a little too still for comfort, or the doleful waltz they take during Chloe Feoranzo’s melancholy clarinet solo, you’ll end up thinking that Hannah and Casey really are crazy by the end of this one.

Rest assured, they both promise that they’re in their right minds – though they laughed a little oddly afterwards…
