Facebook Won’t Let Me Post Content, So Get Your PMJ Updates Here

I opened my Facebook page today to find this gem:

Strangely enough, I was blocked because I posted one of my own videos.  I’m confident it will be resolved, but this has inspired me to spend more time developing my own site, rather than giving Facebook my best work for nothing.  So, tune in here for all my updates over the next few days.

Rehearsals for the Postmodern Jukebox New Zealand / Australia / Southeast Asia Tour begin tomorrow, but today we had a very special guest in town: the one and only Gunhild Carling!  If you aren’t familiar with her, check out what she did with us at our Copenhagen stop on #PMJtour:

Gunhild is a rare talent, to say the least: she’s a virtuosic multi-instrumentalist, singer, and dancer that lives and breathes vintage jazz music.  Her energy as a performer and love of music is off the charts: she’s practically a one- woman PMJ show.  I had wanted to feature her in a video for quite some time, and I was thrilled to get the opportunity today.

Even better, we filmed today’s shoot aboard The Queen Mary, the legendary ocean liner that now serves as a hotel, museum, and tourist attraction in Long Beach, CA.  Not only was it an absolutely beautiful setting for a PMJ video, it also housed an amazing collection of vintage items and artwork from the Art Deco era – I highly recommend checking it out.

As always, we’ll have a new Postmodern Jukebox video coming out tomorrow night, and I’ll write another post with a daily recap (this sounds vaguely like a New Years’ resolution…), so bookmark this site.  Have a great night!
