Rayvon's effortless voice combines a soulful John Legend-like tone with phrasing elements of classic crooners like Frank Sinatra on this video.  It's fitting, then, that Sinatra's 100th birthday would have been only a few days from now.  And, although I can't speak for the Chairman of the Board, I'm pretty sure he would agree that after the party is the afterparty, too.

For this arrangement, I want to capture the hard swinging feel found in so many Sinatra arrangements and combine it with elements of hiphop and modern day r&b.  If you listen to the horns carefully, you'll hear a bit of Nelson Riddle and - in the breakdown - a bit of Dr. Dre.  Although those two might seem unrelated at first, they were both responsible for creating a production style that came to define a genre.

Rayvon was a natural choice to bring these two traditions together, and he's one of the most polished young performers that I've ever worked with.  Every take he recorded was a winner; this is a real voice to watch. For more Rayvon, visit his YouTube channel and say hi to him on Facebook.
