Ever since taking off on this wild ride known as Postmodern Jukebox, Scott Bradlee has worked hard week in and week out to put his inimitable retro spin on all your favorite hits.
On his latest solo CD, Scott flips the script – this time out, he’s treating you to some of his faves! On “Songs I Know By Heart“ PMJ’s founder takes a pause from learning and rearranging new tunes to look back at some nostalgic memories and key influences while delighting in some more recent earworms that have burrowed their way into his brain.
“These are primarily songs that, for one reason or another, have always stuck with me since my formative years,” Scott says, “along with some fun modern additions.”

Anyone who’s been paying attention to PMJ’s electic mix of song choices and stylistic twists shouldn’t be surprised that Scott’s most personal playlist runs the gamut, from certified rock classics like The Beatles’ “Hey Jude,” Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” and David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” to sentimental treasures like “La Vie En Rose” or “Dream a Little Dream of Me.”
The cutting-edge rock of Scott’s youth is represented by The Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” and Radiohead’s “Karma Police,” while the theme from “Super Mario Bros.” and the dreamer’s anthem “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory take us back to those innocent days of childhood. A couple of new discoveries – namely, the theme from Rick and Morty and Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” – bring us right up to the present day.
So take a listen and get to know Scott a little better, and whether these songs are old favorites or fresh revelations we’re sure it won’t take long before you know these renditions by heart.
