Amanda Metivier (BSW 2008, MSW 2012) is the Interim Director of the Alaska Child Welfare Academy and an Adjunct Faculty in Human Services at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Amanda is an alumni of Alaska’s foster care system and has dedicated her career and personal life to child welfare. She co-founded the foster youth-led non-profit Facing Foster Care in Alaska in 2003 and serves on the Board of Directors. She has been a foster & adoptive parent to teens for more than a decade. Amanda has received local, state, and national recognition for her work to amplify the voices of foster youth in direct services and advocacy.
