Daniel Brendible is a member of the Tsimshian Nation and was born into the ganhada (raven/frog) clan, his traditional name is Lp Gigyoom Nexl (by itself floating blackfish). Daniel received his BA in 2011 and his MSW in 2021. He has worked in behavioral health for the past five years, is pursuing his clinical licensure, and is the chair of the local child protection team in Metlakatla, Alaska.
Daniel has a strong background working with men’s groups with a focus on toxic masculinity, rape culture, and how power and control contribute to intimate partner violence. Daniel is also a member of the Women In Safe Homes (WISH) board, where he is helping bridge barriers to local services by bringing a strong value of social justice to traditionally underserved populations.
Daniel loves volunteering and spending time at the local Metlakatla Presbyterian church, where he is a church elder. When Daniel is not working or volunteering, he is probably reading fiction books, or hanging out with his wife and children.
